Relevance for 'If' and 'Because'

The conditional "If Lund is a town in Sweden, Munich is a town in Germany" sounds odd. There is simply no relevant connection between the if-clause and the main clause. Holger Andreas and I have developed a semantics that requires such a connection for the acceptance of conditionals. As a result, we could give an analysis of 'because' in terms of our new semantics.
